Skills for Families

A4e is committed to delivering programmes and services that improve the circumstances of families. We enable families to regain control of their finances by delivering programmes of support and education. We tackle financial exclusion through the MoneyHelp programme in Edinburgh, a scheme supported by HBOS, that delivers straight forward, impartial advice and education to adults and school students. Similarly, on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions, we delivered the Direct Payment service (In 13 languages) that enabled over 50,000 people to receive their benefit payments by Direct Debit. We are committed to:

  • delivering bold initiatives to reduce the vulnerability of low income families to financial exclusion and debt
  • delivering MoneyHelp workshops to tens of thousands of people across Scotland
  • working with government to improve access to financial support  for people in disadvantaged and rural areas

We believe that bold new strategies are required to tackle the ever increasing problem of financial exclusion and personal debt. We believe that new initiatives, such as MoneyHelp, should be embraced and promoted across the whole of Scotland for the benefit of disadvantaged groups and communities.
