Skills for Communities

A4e prides itself on making a significant impact on the communities that it works in, supporting business; delivering investment; delivering training and effecting economic regeneration. We do this in communities where we are needed most and have made a number of significant achievements in Scotland so far through welfare to work expertise; pioneering 'Working Neighbourhood' projects, building labour market schemes in deprived wards; and as a managing agent for the Scottish Prison Service. We are committed to:

  • broadening the number of areas where we can deliver support to businesses and individuals working at the heart of their communities
  • rolling out the Working Neighbourhood projects in some of Scotland's most challenging communities
  • tackling the 68% re-offending rate of Scottish prisoners; working with the Scottish Prison Service to deliver training, choice and employment opportunity

A4e believes that the key to building stronger communities lies in an enlightened approach to programme management that is based on partnerships between the public, private and third sector, sharing expertise, innovation and experience.
